THE GREAT BARROW PUSH

FROM MARYSVILLE, VICTORIA TO PARLIAMENT HOUSE, ACT

It only takes six and a half hours to drive to Canberra from Marysville. Not for us.

This trip, all up, is around six hundred kilometres, give or take. We are not only going to walk it, but push a wheelbarrow the entire distance.

In March 2025, the team at Trevs Story are planning to take on this challenge in an effort to raise funds to further our mission to save the tradies of Australia. This will be done in the form of a relay - meaning that we need the support of the community from Melbourne all the way to Canberra in order to help push this barrow. Teams can choose a distance to push the barrow, whether it be one kilometre or a hundred, and raise money along the way to help our cause.

The real questions are why the barrow? Why parliament house?

The wheelbarrow is a staple in the tradie’s toolkit. Whether it’s carrying bricks, dirt, or the apprentice home after a long night out, the wheelbarrow is a tool that every tradie uses at one point or another throughout their life - or every single day. So, what better piece of equipment to use to help carry the load of bringing awareness to mental health and suicide within the trade industry?

And for parliament house - recently, Trev has been in contact with Senator Jaqui Lambie regarding her support for our project, to which she responded that she “would be honoured“ to receive one of our marbles. And, maybe, some others will join our cause along the way. So, what better place to meet than the capital of Australia?

So the plan, for now, is as follows:

  • Monday March 3rd, 2025 - Leave Marysville.

  • Sunday, March 23rd, 6pm - arrive in Canberra.

  • Monday, March 24th - rest day to prepare for the final walk to Parliament House.

  • Tuesday, March 25th, 10am - walk from Acton Park, Canberra, across Commonwealth Bridge up to Parliament House and meet with Jaqui Lambie.

  • Then, after lunch, we will draw the winner of the Livin Life Teardrop Campers off-road van raffle.

More information will be available soon, along with a registration form so you and your team can choose where you wish to push the barrow from, how far, and which day you would like to participate.
